About
Andúnë - The Elvish word for Sunset/Evening
Creating jewellery is a way for me to express my visions of the fantasy worlds I wish I could live in.
One day, while rummaging through old things, I found some wire and a few vintage beads in a box and began making rings bending the wire with a pair of electrical pliers. 10+ years later and I'm still hooked on the creative process of bringing something from my imagination to life.
Over the years, I've tried numerous techniques and materials, yet I continue to be drawn towards 999 fine silver. There's something so magical about its purity; the way it molds easily in the hands, how it turns white and not black under fire, and the way its surface shines as if it were liquid.
I personally hand make pieces from scratch and my designs emerge from my mind like little creative epiphanies. I mostly dislike trending themes, as I find following the latest fashion restricts my ability to be true to myself. In the same vein, I like to take social media breaks to refocus my creativity, as scrolling through other people's work blocks my own creative thinking.
I'm a little witchy at heart and can easily get lost in a crystal shop. Both fantasy and historical worlds and civilizations with all their unique languages, costumes and legends are a source of inspiration for me and much of my creative work is designed around them. In the real world, I'm a mother, wife and homemaker. I quit my day job in marketing and design back in 2014 when my eldest son arrived, my daughter was born in 2017, and we welcomed our second son in 2020.
Thank you for reading and enjoy your journey.
